About Me

"BELIEVING in yourself is the first secret to SUCCESS."

My name is Shandi Priske and I am a second grade teacher.  I have been teaching at Machado elementary for 15 years!  Wow, time sure does fly!  I began as a kindergarten teacher, moved to first grade for ten years, and am currently in my fourth year of teaching second grade.  I am so proud of my students and their accomplishments!  I have attended several sporting events,  high school graduations, and am so EXCITED when I learn that my former students are attending college.  Way to go!
I have lived in Lake Elsinore for over thirty years and I am a product of the Lake Elsinore Unified School District.  I attended both Butterfield and Withrow Elementary, Terra Cotta Middle School , and Temescal Canyon High School.  After high school, I went straight to college to pursue my dream of becoming an elementary school teacher.  I received a Bachelor's of Arts in Liberal Studies from CSU San Marcos, a multiple-subject teaching credential from National University, and a Masters of Arts in Education from Chapman University.
Each day I strive to be the best teacher possible for my students and I wholeheartedly believe that learning should be FUN!  I can still remember the names of my favorite teachers because they stood out among the others.  I actually enjoyed going to their classes, which made me want to learn more.  I am also a firm believer that every student is capable of learning.  First, they have to believe in themselves and then they must work hard to achieve their goals.  SUCCESS must be earned!
I inform my students from day one that we are going to strive to be the #1 class all year long.  We will always try our best and mistakes are okay, but we learn from them.  It is my goal to provide a comfortable setting for my students to learn and communication is key!  Please feel free to email or call me if you ever have any questions or concerns.  I look forward to a wonderful school year and the exciting journey that lies ahead!  Thank you for reading!
