Welcome! 

 

My name is Vicki Brands and I am a 1st grade teacher here at Machado Elementary School. The 2016-2017 school year will be my 4th year teaching 1st grade and I can't wait to meet my new class!

 

I attended UC Irvine for my undergraduate education and California State University, Fullerton for my Teaching Credential and my Masters in Education Technology. I worked as a reading intervention teacher for two years before I became a first grade teacher. Now I wouldn't have it any other way!

 

I live locally with my husband and two dogs - a chocolate lab and a black lab mix. We are also expecting our first child this fall- a baby girl! In addition to teaching 1st grade, I love the beach, photography, hiking, traveling, crafting, snowboarding, and Crossfitting in my garage.
